J.V. provides a training ground for future court leaders
Student athletes in grades 6-10 can play in junior varsity matches, which feature shorter quarters, and usually a slower pace, than varsity play.
Those in grades seven and above can participate in varsity matches, too, depending upon student ability, level of competition, and coaches' discernment. Overlap between the JV and varsity roster in grades 7-10 allows coaches the flexibility to help players to experience playing time in situations in which they are qualified.
LPA competes in the SCACS 2-A league and participates in a season-ending JV tournament.
