JV win opener on road

In their season opener, the Junior Varsity men’s team traveled to Union and rode home with a win.Henry Reynolds

From the tip-off, the contest was a defensive battle. The tough Union Christian Day Eagles held the Mariners to a low scoring game, but Lake Pointe’s defense returned the favor.  

Coach Marc Kurtz was encouraged by the LPA execution. “Our man-to-man coverage was very effective and aggressive.” Lake Pointe’s defensive wall held, and in the second half the Mariner offense was able to pull away by penetrating for layups and close shots.

Sophomore Henry Reynolds led the Mariner scoring with 12 points. Other scorers included 6^th grader Koysta Gozaloff , 7^th grader Will White, and 8^th grader
