Families Vision meeting and registration kick-off: Tue. Feb. 21

LPA soon holds its annual vision meeting, which looks ahead to next year. This event is also the formal launch to registration for 2017-18. It is hard to believe another year has passed, but it is February again.

The good news is that we have exciting information to share this year!

You are invited:  Tue., Feb. 21       7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

The annual meeting has taken different forms through the years, as leaders have tried different approaches. Two years ago, we celebrated LPA’s 10^th year with visitors representing our national University Model association. Last year, the event was paired with science night for efficiency. This year, after much conversation and prayer, we are simplifying things a bit.

Adults only.

The year’s meeting is designed for adults. Secondary students are welcome to attend if they sit with the parent the entirety of the program and participate. The event is not staffed to supply child care, and having students roam the campus last year was counter-productive.

This may mean that if other supervision options are not available, only one parent might attend, while the other stays with the children. That’s understandable.  

The meeting is an opportunity for parents to learn more about the academy’s vision and direction, which has continually been in refining process since the campus first opened. Attendees will hear grade level supervisors and other leaders share the emphases and initiatives for the next school year – and beyond – including:

• Emphases and initiatives for next year, by LPA’s three academic levels and extra-curricular programs
• Accreditation report from coordinator Dr. Gail Stowe
• Plans for expanded student life in the elementary grades
• Facilities expansion update
• Information and materials to kick-off the registration season
   

Registration materials

There are no giant secrets. Tuition is not doubling, nor is the academy becoming a Chinese immersion magnet school or anything. Still, as a courtesy to families who attend, we will not release registration materials before the meeting for any reason.
