Stanford 10 standardized testing is scheduled for April 19-20 for grades 3-9. Mandatory for full-time LPA students, the test is available to all home school families as well.

Students, staff, & families are invited to experience history as they play paintball in Rock Hill: Monday, Nov. 19 from 10a to 3p. No experience is necessary, but participants must be 10 years or older.
Friday, November 9th students, parents, and faculty can particpate in a field trip to the Passages interactive Bible exhibit. The museum display presents the history of the Bible, taking visitors through the various stages of the writings and preservations of the Bible throughout history. For more details, click here.

Lake Pointe is offering an adult ed Bible study in Systematic Theology, using the curriculum developed for the 12th grade course of the same name.
The annual writing camps for students and parents will be held Monday through Thursday, July 30-August 2.

Training will be led by LPA teacher and certified Excellence in Writing instructor, Sarah Speer. A 3-hour morning camp will serve elementary students and parents. The 3-hour afternoon camp will serve rising 7th- 9th grade students and parents.
While the training will be addressed to the students, the parents' presence helps mom and dad know how to better assist their children. With parents having firsthand understanding and knowledge of techniques and reasons, the student is much more likely to retain -- and use!-- the skills engaged in the workshop.

Tues., May 22, the last preview presentation for prospective families before summer begins, features special hands-on workshops with the faculty. This meeting will be worth attending, even for parents who have already visited LPA.
By special arrangement, LPA secondary students have a free opportunity to learn rock climbing at the Winthrop Univ. Outdoor Ed. Center, Wed., April 11 or Mon., April 16.
Instructor Wynelle Smith and the physics class invite all secondary students to participate in the fourth annual "egg drop" challenge Friday, April 27th after classes.
LPA secondary students are invited to a special communicators training through the Institute for Cultural Communicators. The 2-day event in Columbia, called "Flood the Five," is March 2-3.
LPA is pursuing the beginning of a "Girls on the Run" chapter for girls in grades 3 through 6 in the spring semester.
The LPA community is invited to serve at the Operation Christmas Child regional processing facility in south Charlotte, Friday, December 2.
